Our story Since 2018

"How can we make world-class rope education available to every*body?"

2018 BerlinTwo people, one question
When founders Gorgone & Anton met in Berlin in 2018, Sīn had spent years teaching internationally while navigating constant travel and the instability that often comes with independent education. After the sudden closure of a venue where Sīn had been teaching, it became clear there had to be a more sustainable way to share knowledge and support students around the world.
The early daysBuilt in a one-room apartment
Anton, whose passion lies in building systems and bringing order to complex ideas, began helping turn that vision into reality. Evenings spent planning, filming, editing and building quickly became something much bigger, and they decided to build the company together as equal partners
Our approachMade to complement, not replace
From the beginning, Shibari Study was never meant to replace local communities or in-person learning. It gives students access to exceptional instruction wherever they live, and gives educators a sustainable platform to share their knowledge beyond workshops and events.
