In this class, Gestalta teaches two versions of their Mayfly with their model Aleks. Both variations offer the basic functionality of a traditional TK but with an interesting twist. By keeping the arms down at the side of the body instead of in the usual behind-the-back 'box-tie' position of a standard TK, the stress of internal rotation is taken out of the shoulders, making for a more comfortable and sustainable tie. In suspension, this harness leaves the arms draped around the body for a poetic and less traditional aesthetic. It’s an ideal option for who are comfortable with pressure on their arms but have limited flexibility in their shoulders. The 'Original' version of the tie is the more structured of the two and is recommended for transitions or extended time periods. Where the first variation offers stability and practicality, the second delivers the drama, with a dynamic 'exploding' take on the harness that comes off easily in the air, making it a thrilling tie for both performance and play. You can see it used in action in the Mayfly Session. * Captions available for this series: English
