Welcome to the Challenge
In this beginner-friendly challenge, you’ll be guided through all the skills needed to tie one of your first rope harnesses: the Neck Hug. Requiring just a few basic knots and frictions as well as some simple techniques, this is the ideal place to start honing and applying your new shibari know-how. Work through videos in order, moving on to a new technique only once you feel confident in the previous technique. Remember that even simple skills take time to develop, and you’ll need both understanding and muscle memory for each component to feel successful when tying the harness. Learn and “lab” the harness before playing with it.
Before you begin
Safety
Learning can be slow going, so let your tying partners test the position first without rope to make sure it’s comfortable enough for them to be tied there for a sustained time. One of the videos references suspension lines. Ignore that piece for now, and come back to it later in your journey if you loved this harness and want to try it in partial or full suspension.
