More about Atelier Mae

Based in Namur, Belgium, Atelier Mae is a space dedicated to shibari, rope arts and embodied exploration through movement, relationship and artistic expression. Founded in 2023, Atelier Mae offers beginner-friendly introductions, advanced workshops, flow-oriented classes, performances, jams and community events in a thoughtful and sensitive environment. Influenced by movement, dance, active bottoming and relational dynamics, our approach sees rope not only as technique, but also as a language of presence, listening and emotional expression. Alongside regular classes and private sessions, we invite international instructors to share diverse styles, philosophies and approaches to tying. We also organize performances, consent-focused talks, rope jams and the International Shibari Film Festival (ISFF). Curious beginners and experienced practitioners alike are welcome.
