More about Escuela de Shibari (Gijón Shibari Dojo)

Erotic shibari school based in Gijón, Asturias, Spain.

Instruction is led by Ryuan, teaching the Sekibaku (責縛) style — technical, precise, and stripped of the mystique that so often surrounds this world.

Classes are one-to-one: one couple, one session, held in-person at the dojo or online, taught bilingually (ES/EN), so every pair gets full attention rather than a slot in a group. In-person work is complemented by online support and materials, following our own #MSAFE method (Make Shibari Accessible For Everyone).

Everyone starts as a beginner. Training builds from the fundamentals — each couple then moves at their own pace — shaped by what draws them, and by how much time and practice they choose to put in.

The dojo itself is small and private by design: this isn't a space for spectators. What we teach here is meant to be lived between two people, not performed for a room. We keep it that way — technical enough to trust, private enough to go.

The team

  • Ryuan

    Ryuan

    (he/him)

    Instructor

Ryuan is a certified Yagami Ryu instructor since 2018, with 20+ years of teaching experience. His training spans shibari across styles and lineages, plus neuroscience, psychology, sexology, anatomy, and biomechanics. He has taught across Spain, Europe, and the Americas. His methodology places the individual and their erotic experience at the center of the practice, prioritizing technical understanding and continuous adaptation over the replication of fixed patterns.

  • Patri

    (she/her)

    Instructor

Patri is a psychologist with more than a decade ofexperience and a certified LYT Method® instructor — a physical therapy-based method built on functional training.
