More about Mie Neko

Mie Neko is a feminist organization dedicated to creating a safer space for people with backgrounds of discrimination (FLINTA\* individuals, LGBTQIA+ community, fat people, BIPoC, people with disabilities, and others) to learn and practice Shibari. People who are not part of these groups are also warmly welcome to participate in the classes, provided they respect this safer space and contribute to making everyone feel comfortable. At the studio, Shibari workshops are offered for anyone interested in learning the art of Shibari. The workshops are divided into different skill levels and thematic areas. For couples seeking a more personalized learning experience, private tuition in a 1:1 setting is available. In addition, the studio hosts a monthly Shibari Training designed as a dedicated practice space. It helps bridge the gap between workshops and rope jams. From time to time, Performance Nights are also organized, where professional Shibari artists present their work.

    Founder

Mie Neko's rope journey started in 2017. Since 2020, she has expanded into teaching and performing at national and international events, alongside hosting her own rope events. Her tying style melds body manipulation, power dynamics, semenawa, and a soft yet precise approach. In her teaching, she emphasizes her expertise as a smaller rigger, rope model education, and safety, as well as how to build emotional connection through rope.
