Nawa Studio is Gothenburg's home for everything rope and shibari. The studio is located in Ringön and is a place where you can practice, explore, and meet others who share an interest in rope, body, and presence.
We host courses, workshops and open rope evenings with time for questions and for working at a calm pace. Whether you're a curious beginner or have been tying for years, we hope you'll find something here for you

(he/him)Rigger, c-founder, teacher & IT
JacL has been tying since 2017 and co-founded West Coast Kinbaku, that turned into Nawa Studio. He works with BDSM, technical and intimate rope, and suspension. Hosting at Nawa: Safety classes and technique workshops.
PollyPerhaps
(she/her)Teacher & Cordinator
Polly has been tying since 2016 and teaching beginner classes since 2018. She mixes classical patterns and conventions with wordless communication, and likes working on the floor or with furniture. Teaching beginners is a particular focus. Rope is for everyone who wants it, and any limitation can always be worked around. Hosting at Nawa: Beginner classes, Peer Rope Ringön.
Jordgubbstjuven/Mattisdottir
(they/them)Teacher & Communication
Mattisdottir discovered shibari in 2020 and went deeper in 2022. To her, rope can be play, closeness, chaos and calm, and a way of coming closer to herself and her partner. Consent, safety and communication are central to everything she does. She runs workshops focused on flow, creativity and presence. To learn together, think and share thoughts on technique and what's happening to us on the inside is something very, very special. Hosting at Nawa: Queerrope GBG, Techicall Tuesdays
Ropemarks

Ropemarks is fascinated by restriction and enjoys technique, knots and experimenting. He likes working with energetic rope, predicament and stage performance, and he teaches. Hosting at Nawa: Workshops, stretching for the inflexible and performance nights.
