More about Peer Rope Byron Bay & Lismore
Peer Rope is the first and original rope dojo of the Northern Rivers, starting in the Byron Shire and moving to Lismore.
Our workshops provide an immersive journey into the art of Shibari/Kinbaku as a practice of trust, presence, and energetic exchange. We emphasise conscious touch, deep somatic listening, vulnerability, and the dance between holding & surrendering.
We address essential safety principles, the philosophy and long history of this art form, and explore rope as meditation. We look at the myriad reasons people tie, including why rope can be a profound therapeutic tool. We dive into power dynamics, the sacred exchange of trust and devotion, and the deeply entwined relationship between pleasure & pain, all woven into how Shibari perfectly blends with the fundamental and practical elements of Tantra. Our instructors Bonnie & Shane are trained in Osada and Kazami Ryu, with a combined experience of over 30 years.
Our workshops are suitable for beginner, intermediate & advanced.
