More about Shibari Muses

Shibari Muses | San Juan, PR | Somatic Rope Arts

Welcome to Shibari Muses, an intentional space in San Juan dedicated to the therapeutic and artistic exploration of rope.

Our offerings blend precision, aesthetics, and deep personal inquiry:

  • Rope Artistry & Portraiture: Collaborative sessions creating beautiful, bound imagery.
  • Somatic Rope Therapy (SRT): Using supported rope work and suspension for emotional awareness and physical presence.
  • Private & Pair Instruction: Tailored lessons from fundamentals to suspension rigging.

We believe rope is a dialogue. Every session focuses on your nervous system’s capacity for presence, clear boundaries, and the connection found in shared vulnerability.

Whether you seek the beauty of rope, the depth of somatic suspension, or new technical skills, your intentions are held with respect. Come explore the intersections of body, rope, and consciousness.

Guide, Artist & Somatic Therapist in Rope

I am Psyche Sophia, a San Juan-based artist and somatic therapist with 4 years in training. My practice is centered on the understanding that the body holds our stories, and conscious, somatic rope work is a unique language for accessing and transforming those narratives. Blending technical precision with a trauma-informed lens, I prioritize nervous system regulation and felt safety. I offer somatic rope therapy, expressive portraiture, and private mentorship for individuals and pairs.

    Shibari Artist (Rope Bottom)

4 years of experience being tied by my rigger, Psyche, and learning under their direction. For me, Shibari is trust, communication, surrender, and love. I am fascinated by being in ropes and suspended, as Shibari provides a pause and a stillness that help me find peace. It is my ideal space to completely disconnect when I feel overwhelmed by responsibilities like work, motherhood, and the world in general.
