More about Zhu Studio
At Zhu Studio, rope is a media of connection. Through touch, tension, movement, and trust, the people and rope shape one another.
The team

Ice J
(he/him)Founder. Teacher. Organizer
Started his Shibari practice in 2017 and was deeply influenced by classical Japanese masters Kinoko, Yagami and Naka. By founding his own brand ‘Zhi’ in 2018, he began a deep exploration of bodily tension, power, and spatial aethetic. In 2024, he cooperated with glass artist Jun on the installation exhibition ‘觉’ (Awakening). This project brought together rope and glass, challenging the boundary of two distinct materials, as well as celebrating their shared essence — fragility and vulnerability.
