Curious about shibari? Looking for a welcoming place to learn the art of Japanese rope bondage in Berlin? Whether you're just starting out, or have a little experience and want to brush up on the basics, our studio offers supportive, hands-on instruction through formats from flexible drop-in rope classes and full weekend intensives to our 6-week shibari Step courses.

Our classes are taught from our beautiful, dedicated shibari studio in Neukölln, Berlin. We have a strong focus on developing solid, safe technique, whilst also emphasising consent & connection. Our space is open to all bodies, backgrounds, and orientations—no previous experience, no rope, and no partner is required.

    Owner

    Gestalta is the owner of Daruma and teaches regularly at the studio. In addition to their workshops, they are also available for private lessons, and sessions at the studio. Their approach to shibari has evolved from 16 years of practice on both sides of the ropes, and a diverse range of influences which they appropriate, blend and develop in their own practice. As a teacher, they strive to reflect the experience of both tying partners on a deep level.
