For bamboo used on the body (not as a suspension point), any thin piece will work. You can find bamboo sticks at a gardening store for example!

As long as you friction all wraps together into a stable band, using counter tension is totally valid! Let us know if you encounter any issues when modifying a tie and we will do our best to help you understand why. Play safe, and enjoy!

This is a good question! It is not always possible to prevent the up line from sliding around, but you can often resolve this issue by lifting and guiding the body from bellow (with your arm or knee) into the right direction/angle as you pull on the suspension line. This way the body will not work 'against' the up line and force it to slide upwards as much. I hope this makes sense!

The average length Tam uses is 7.5m, but some of his ropes are slightly longer or shorter for different applications.

The amount of rope needed to complete a tie varies according to the length of rope you are using and the size of your partner. For this harness 2 to 3 rope of average length (8m) should be enough!

Hi Andi, we generally use climbing-slings for safety reasons. There are slings in various lengths which let you adjust the height of the ring freely. Also Fred Hatt is going to be teaching a course on how to attach your points safely next week (bamboo or ring). We hope this answered your question!
