Good question! We have labelled this tie as advanced because this version is designed specifically for suspensions and the pattern is quite intricate. It is perfectly safe to use on the floor if you are more beginner-intermediate level. There is also a much simpler Agura tie for floor play only in the course 'Less is More' and 'Simple Self Ties' in the Beginner Classes category!

Yes this is also possible! Gorgone did it the other way around so the steps of tying the strappado would not be covered or encumbered by the suspension line being in the way.

For bamboo used on the body (not as a suspension point), any thin piece will work. You can find bamboo sticks at a gardening store for example!

As long as you friction all wraps together into a stable band, using counter tension is totally valid! Let us know if you encounter any issues when modifying a tie and we will do our best to help you understand why. Play safe, and enjoy!

This is a good question! It is not always possible to prevent the up line from sliding around, but you can often resolve this issue by lifting and guiding the body from bellow (with your arm or knee) into the right direction/angle as you pull on the suspension line. This way the body will not work 'against' the up line and force it to slide upwards as much. I hope this makes sense!
