Hi there. Yes! You can suspend this newer version in the same way as demonstrated in the older tutorial: https://shibaristudy.com/programs/kinoko-tk3?cid=531628&permalink=kinoko-tk3-suspension-lines

Hi there! We recommend watching the suspension lines video for Kinoko's old TK3. Here's the link to the tutorial :) https://shibaristudy.com/programs/kinoko-tk3?cid=531628&permalink=kinoko-tk3-suspension-lines

Great question! Yes, the explanation he provides in this video is that the half hitch under the top wrap x-friction provides reinforcement to the stem, making many of the other structures that you mentioned (which also served the function of reinforcing the stem) less necessary.

It’s true that there are several moments in this video where a half hitch is demonstrated that might not be strictly necessary. In some of those cases, if you were to omit the half hitch, you’d need to make sure to lock the tension of a cuff later in the pattern, probably when reinforcing the stem. Whether or not this would provide an advantage when untying may be specific to your rope, though your half hitches shouldn’t get so tight that they’re truly challenging to untie. In general, many frictions can be substituted for others, and it’s pretty common for riggers to start making their own choices about how to isolate tensions within a harness as they get more confident. Whatever you choose, seek frictions that are stable, efficient, comfortable for your model, and do the job of isolating tension within a wrap!

Hi, thanks for your question! That’s a huge question and a bit outside the scope of what we can answer here in the comments section. But we will take your comment into consideration when planning future shootings, and encourage you to watch through different TK pattern videos on our website for specific tension pointers offered within!
