More about Living Ropes

Living Ropes is a bi-weekly Shibari rope jam in Essen, NRW, with a focus on emotional approaches to rope bondage and community exchange.

At Living Ropes you are explicitly invited to tie as loudly - sensually - intensely as you like. Erotic bondage and BDSM are welcome here.

We are usually a group of about 20 people, with mixed experience levels. You're welcome, no matter at which point of your journey you are.

The first jam of the month includes an input that focuses on emotional aspects of Kinbaku. For further study, Fynn and Agin offer private classes outside of the jam.

Our location is small and cozy, there are cushions, carpets and yoga mats. We have four bamboos and five hashira that you are free to use. Nevertheless, it is best to bring a blanket on which you can tie.

The team

  • Agin

    Agin

    (he/him)

    Teacher, Orga

Agin has been tyeing and learning from different teachers since 2020, and has found what resonates with him most studying Yukimura style with Murasaki Haruan. He is drawn to sessions that leave space for the model's expression above all else. He facilitates the rope jam and offers private lessons with his partner Fynn.

  • Fynn

    Fynn

    (she/he)

    Teacher, Orga

Fynn is a switch who got into Kinbaku in ca. 2020. She has a background as a professional rope access technician and combines her love for erotic, torturous ties with solid technical insight. Fynn facilitates the rope jam, builds hard points for Shibari, and offers private lessons together with his partner Agin.

  • Antonia

    Antonia

    (she/her)

    Orga, IT

Antonia is the nerdy, queer and neurodivergent (cuddle) slut in charge of registrations, website, and making sure everyone's data stays where we like it. What draws her to rope is the unique way it allows her to get to know people, and the space for emotions it opens up.

  • Pixi

    Pixi

    (any)

    Orga

Pixi is a switch with many years of experience organizing community events, and helps keep an eye on schedule, money, and other logistics we tend to lose track of. She can usually be found tormenting and teasing her willing victims, or taking a nap.
