Bondage Picnic and Similar Events Around the World
Hey everyone! I'm curious — here in Brazil, we have a strong tradition of hosting shibari events in public parks. We call them Atados no Parque (“Tied in the Park”). These are monthly events held in major Brazilian cities where people from the scene — as well as newcomers — can come together to talk, learn, and even tie.
Usually, more sensual-leaning ties aren’t allowed since the events take place in public spaces, but that doesn’t stop people from connecting and having fun.
As far as I know, these events started in Brazil about 10–12 years ago, inspired by international gatherings like Bondage Picnic. I’m curious — are there similar events happening regularly in other countries?
I’m also posting a picture from one of our events here in São Paulo, Brazil (taken and published with everyone's consent)

Heeey, I'm so excited about this space... It sucks to have your pictures banned from other social media all the time! It will be good to have one to call home. Great idea Fuoco , Anton and all the Shibari study gang!
I'm Aspero (he/him), from Brazil. I'm a rigger, a physical theater actor, and a father of two. My partner in the pictures is Douce, who also happens to be my partner in life. To start, I’ll post some photos from a performance we did when she was five months pregnant — it’s called Red Line. As always, it got our account shadowbanned on other social media.
