More about Studio [K] - LaoDai
Founded by LaoDai and Ayame Iwata, Studio [K] was the first public rope studio in Mainland China. The project began with public rope events in 2016, opened its first studio in 2017, and later became a rope bar and community space. Although the original venue closed in 2021 due to China's COVID restrictions, Studio [K] continues in a new form.
Today, Studio [K] is based in a traditional Thai wooden house in Bangkok, offering a quiet and private space dedicated to kinbaku. LaoDai provides private sessions, photo shoots, and one-to-one classes for all levels, creating an intimate environment where people can explore rope, improve their skills, or simply enjoy a unique experience.
The team

Laodai Davide
(he/him)rigger, founder
An Italian shibari rigge based in Bangkok, LaoDai is the founder of Studio K, the first public rope studio and social rope event in Mainland China. Today, Studio K is his private kinbaku studio in Bangkok. His style is recognized for emphasizing connection, trust, and the shared experience between rigger and model. Throughout the year, he travels internationally, teaching and performing around the World.

Ayame Iwata
(she/her)Bottom, founder
A Japanese rope bottom based in Taiwan. Ayame started her rope journey in 2011. She had opportunities to model for Yukimura Haruki’s private classes at the early stage of her journey, and it inspired her to think about emotional intimacy when two people tie together. She believes that rope is free and every rope bottom deserves a happy shibari experience.
