hi peeps, I'm Enna and I fell in love with rope in 2020. like many, I got so obsessed I made it my life and picked up a job at Shibari Study shortly after. I've been working as the Director of Admin and Ops for a couple years now and hope to make our little corner of the internet feel a bit more connected and human. I'm excited to get to know more of you here, hear your stories, and keep making this space better together :)
Since I got shibari study I've been practicing every day for many hours, and now a few days later I'm noticing my fingers are starting to feel a bit raw from the rope. Nothing visible, but I can feel the skin being quite a bit more sensitive than it usually is.
Now of course I understand this is probably normal and expected, but I wonder if there's any tips or things you guys would suggest, other than just taking a break and letting the skin regenerate a bit. Or even if you've had similar experiences.

An important component in many suspendable patterns and a versatile tool for improvisation in your floorwork, take a deep dive into the hojo cuff. If you’re a self-tyer, check out the self tied version of this challenge in the #self-tying channel. Bonus points if you share a pic of your creative exploration with the class ;)

Hi everyone! I’m Kahrin, I’ve been running Shibari Study’s socials for about four years now.
When it comes to rope, you could say I’m an armchair rigger/bottom - lots of theory from editing all those class snippets, but not much hands-on practice (yet😁). I actually tried tying for the first time this year, a few half-hitches on myself, and let’s just say my hands couldn’t quite keep up with my brain haha
Hoping to get some inspo from you all to give it another go. And in exchange, I can share some good music recs for your tying sessions🖤
Oooo its time for an intro post... Im Mo, self confessed rope nerd and lover of all things rope related. I always say I started my rope journey back in around 2016 or so, but rope and restraint has been part of my relationship for much longer than that. My partner, who Ive been with for 15 years now, introduced me to a latent kinky side that although I always knew was there I didnt really acknowledge. With trust, communication, exploration she encouraged me to be more open with my kinky side and now I get the pleasure of being the Community Manager at Shibari Study and talk about rope to wonderful people all across the world.
Naturally a top in rope I do also enjoy self-tying, what started as practice actually developed into me enjoying exploring being in rope, but I'm far too much of a control freak and anxious person to be tied by someone else. I joined the Shibari Study team back in 2022 as Community Manager, and now 3 years later I'm super excited that we have an integrated community platform on the website.Outside of rope Im a massive foodie, I love cooking, visiting different restaurants, started to really enjoy travelling (especially if theres good food), and try to burn off all the extra calories by doing martial arts with my family (which involves my wife putting me in arm bars and choke holds... never too far from the spice) If you ever have any questions about the community or concerns then give me a shout, and I highly recommend you go follow some of the other Shibari Study team members to learn more about them

Hi everyone my name is Cody (Yorokobi_Domu)
I have been tying on and off for the past few years but really focused over the past year trying to tie everyday.
Something that I have really had a continuous issue with is when tying any type of to my partners hands
Always seem to fall or shift in a way that becomes uncomfortable the arms will drop and cross eachother.
I’ve tried starting with the hands tighter, lose wrapping additional bands for support and I just can’t seem to get there arms to stay “comfortable” in a box tie
On some partners I have found it’s because of flexibility limitations but others that can hold the position themselves it still happens and cuts the play time short. The tk is probably one of my favorite ties in terms of Being aesthetically pleasing so it kills me when this happens and also makes me feel defeated.
The Bottoming channel is all about the experience of being in rope, a space to share experience, tips, emotions and resources all about what its like to be tied. Do you have a routine or ritual you go through before or after you do rope, have you found specific techniques that make certain types of rope more or less sustainable, have you experienced something while in rope you arent sure about. This is the space to discuss it.
This channel is visible publicly, however only subscribers can post and comment. We feel it is important to have this channel public to more widely share the knowledge and resources discussed on this important topic.
