Tried this as a self tie and was able to get into a single leg partial suspension with it. It held together really well for me. Found out that Fuoco wasn’t kidding about how to handle that lower set of wraps and I need to pay more attention to it when tying.

Great suggestion. I tried an epsilon on the inner stem and tied it too flat. It should have been a bit looser and angled in the direction it would be when loaded. I think my hanger made my lower wrap shin issue worse.

Thank you for this class. It felt great to practice restraint and push against it. I closed my eyes, tuned into my body, and was truly felt its limits. In the end it was also a wonderful stretch. I can’t recall the last time my shoulders and upper back felt so open.

Aspero - what a great job. And an excelent way to put your bamboo into everyday decorative use.

MoBights (Community Manager) and Aspero - I didn't find one with that name, but I did find this one - https://www.instagram.com/chair_shibari.

So many people probably miss the last third of this like I did originally. It is a square knot after all. It isn't really difficult. But the discussion about two ropes, dimensionality and rope folding is such a subtle but often missed concept. I hope people watch to the end.

Aspero I have gone from tying pillows to chairs to dolls in the hopes of one day finding a tying partner. But now my goal feels closer as I can say that I’ve gone from pillows to chairs to a furry person. I am almost there.

Thanks for the offer. Here is a photo. I placed the anchor on top in these but usually I place it between the two bands along this inner stem to open up the leg.

I got into it through social media and decided I would give it a try. To this point, I have very limited experience tying another person, but I would love to experience the connection I see others attain when I visit rope jams.

I don’t know if I can summarize what it gives me, but if I had to try, it might be more intentional control of myself. Instead of trying to unpack that, here are some examples:

* When I self tie, I find that certain restrictions can help my nervous system down regulate.

* When I practice fictions on a pole, I can get into almost a flow state and dance with the rope

* if I am practicing a pattern on my dojo doll, I can get my mind to focus on just that and not be bouncing all over the place

* if I practice fictions on my legs while watching a movie, I pay more attention to the movie and my hands are tied up so I am not on my phone at the same time

Gorgone’s Wide Front Hip harness is a go to for me.

I also Anna Bones’ self tie butterfly harness was so helpful in getting me to think about rope handling that wasn’t always being my back.

I am really excited for the new Burgandy Rose live sessions. Event the intro for me to think differently about my movements which tend to be pattern based and very linear.
